Be careful if you take Synthroid for Hypo-thyroid disease..... talk to your doctor before starting Claritin. My blood pressure went up all of the sudden after always being good.......when I stopped the Claritin it went back to normal. It scared me.

One month after quitting smoking I suffered a fairly severe asthma attack and 3 episodes of migraine aura around 11 am daily (always had allergic rhinitis ,classic migraine which for the past 20 years or so no longer includes headache, just aura, and various food additive allergies), followed by a mild stroke causing temporary paresis of right leg from knee to foot. I have been pleased with the results - Dr. prescribed Valtrex to "shorten" any outbreaks, but so far, have not had any outbreaks. I had been taking 1 gm pill for about two months, then lessened the dosage to .5 gm.

Although there are a lot of unwanted side effects,these are nothing in comparison to the crippling migraines I used to suffer daily. As a young woman with a toddler I can't be in bed 5 days out of 7 in a week with migraine and this wonder drug is the only one which works for me.
