I am age 50 and take this for alleviating peri-menopausal symptoms. My hot flashes include nausea and fainting, so I absolutely need a hormone replacement drug to keep me normal. The only side effect I have from being on this pill for one month is a bodily rash all over (like heat rash) and acne on my chest and neck! It's very gross! I felt the Estring was the easiest way to resolve being the 1 in 3 who develop vaginal atrophy post-menopause. But over the course of time, my husband and I have found it necessary to remove it to have satisfying sex and I find it can slip out at unwanted times.
