My grandfather has taken Niaspan for a little over 2 years, he started within the last month with more moderate waking up at night a flushing. At first it really helped with lowering my cholesterol but as time went on, i began to have really bad pains in my arms. when i stopped taking it, i couldnt even move it was so bad.

I only took this after my wisdom teeth extraction. It was really great for the pain and seemed to even help the swelling go down in my face. The main downside was that it made me intensely sleepy. I basically slept those days away and didn't eat much. Not too much pain though so I was satisfied and came out of the surgery just fine.

Although the drug did it's job is lessening the pain, I am always very reluctant to take it because of how drowsy it makes me. Although I can tolerate it better, I still feel like I am movie extremely slowly compared to everyone/everything else when I take the medication.
