I took codeine very briefly for pain when I was ill with mononucleosis. It gave me severe heartburn, especially while sleeping, so I had to stop taking the drug.

Advil is a great OTC medicine for minor pains like headaches, toothaches, and even menstrual cramps. It has been effective for me while not producing any negative side effects. However, it may not work as well on more stronger and long-term pains.

My Daughter will be 13 in one month and received her 2nd shot of gardisil two days ago. Within 3 hrs of receiving the shot, she was curled up on the couch with extreme pain in her legs, dizziness, nausia, and a splitting headache. The pain progressed to her arms by yesterday afternoon, along with the other symptoms, leading her doctor to suspect Guillain-Barré syndrome. I quit Lipitor almost 3 years ago. I was very close to not being able to work and had already had to give up all social contacts, was afraid to drive anymore and less than a year away from being on disability and not know WHY! Within the first 2 weeks of being on this drug, I sat down to eat lunch one day and when I went to get up, it felt like someone had hit me in both knees at the same time with a sledge hammer. I used Mononessa for about 3-4 months. I started back in late February and ended in June. Over that time, I had very intense mood swings and many crying episodes. I usually am a very positive person and I could not get into a good mental place. I was also vomiting much more often and I experienced several intense headaches and multiple mild ones in a month.
