I was prescribed amitryptiline after a servere breakdown and agitated depression. It was due to stress at work, and my Doctor told me the drug would bring my neurotransmitters together, that the stress had knocked apart. It saved my life, as I was suicidal. It is common to experience some stinging or burning when you place the drops in the eyes. However, I hope the burning didn't continue afterward.
