I have been on Mirena since November of 2009 and I have never been so disappointed in my life. I am currently expiriencing severe back problems and it's a dilemma. The M.D prescribed (Morphine Sulfate) which is used to treat agonizing pain. I was told to take it (bid), of course running the risk of possibly becoming addicted to the narcotic. I took it as prescribed by necessity and recommendation. About an hour or two after using the vaginal applicator I woke up with severe lower abdominal pains (felt like I'd been kicked there). After a long painful time in the bathroom I had a BM, then later,with more cramping, severe diarrhea. I at first thougt it was something I ate, then realized the last time I had those symptoms was the last time I used the cream. I thought then that it was food poisoning. Too much of a coincidence. I'm afraid to use it agan.

Since having the Mirena IUD inserted approx. 10 months ago I had developed anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations, chest pain, difficulty breathing, night sweats, hot flashes, memory lapses and a generally foggy and unwell feeling. I have no prior history of any of these conditions. I had the Mirena IUD removed yesterday and hope that these symptoms improve.

This is the only medication that has helped the most with symptoms of my cronhs disease, it has made my digestion and nausea much better, I still have pain but it has helped a little
