I was prescribed Promethazine after I got my wisdom teeth pulled and was given Percocet and vomited. I also felt naseous after taking pain medicaiton (especially since I was unable to eat much with the medication due to having oral surgery). The Promethazine was amazing because it stopped the nausea and vomiting. It also made me very tired but I didn't mind because it was nice being asleep while I was in pain. I really haven't noticed any side effects whatsoever. I think it does a pretty good job at reducing the conversion of testosterone to estrogen, without messing up my lipids.

See my mother's Alz experience above. She got into trouble with only 3/4 of a .5 mg tab a day. When I insisted Mom be sedated for invasive procedures at a hospital ER room, they figured they'd give her a full day's allowed dose at once, so that would be 1.5 mg. That put her in LaLa land allright. I was grateful they used it on this occasion. Overuse of this drug could have stopped her breathing. 22 mg in one day. Good grief. Mom's been off it for about a month now, and has NO delusions at all... View full comment
