At first I didn't really have any side effects.Then about a month into the pack,I noticed I was very irritable,moody,short tempered and slightly angry. I also noticed that the last week on each month my breasts were soo tender they hurt. I still get some cramps and pms.I am starting to wonder why am I even on these paticular kind. I have strange dreams-when I wake up In the morning I cannot go back to sleep if I want to-I have all kind s of thoughts that run through my mind and it does not quit until I open my eyes and get up-like this every day-when I need to take a nap I will fall asleep for 20 minutes or so and wake up startled and feel lonely again-have that and I do not like it at all. may get off this med when I can.

Started taking Topamax on vacation to gradually get up to full dose. Went very slowly--got to full dosage at about 4 weeks. I lost weight, but tried to stick with it because the migraines were so bad, but it only reduced them a little bit. At around the 4-5 week mark I was sitting in my living room feeling semi-suicidal and decided I should read the fine print on the side effects. I was given this for my back pain after my auto accident. It had no effect on the pain that I was having and gave me no side effects. My doctor told me that some people it works for and others like me it has no effect. He switched me to lortab and I havent had a problem
