I have been taking Effexor XR in combination with Lexapro for 5 years. Recently deciding to fast and cleanse I stopped taking both meds. Please do not stop abrubtly as I did. Follow the advice of your physician and wean off the meds. I experienced extreme withdrawls including sleeplessness, flash headaches, nausea, extreme sadness and suicidal thoughts. Anaphylactic shock here. I had to be rushed to the hospital. My face swelled up until the eyes were slits; the tongue swelled; and welts were all over my body. My tongue swelled within a few minutes of injestion. I was lucky to get to the hospital in time.

I have had to go without cymbalta before if I've missed a dose or wasn't able to fill it right away and I notice a huge difference like a withdrawl affect. I will get nervous/anxious, sweaty, fidgity, irritable.
