I've tried them all! With reservations, I purchased Herplex and was humbled! It was the first medication to actually prevent cold sores from oozing open. Puzzled as to why I could no longer find it at Wal-Mart, I found this site and discovered it is no longer available. What a disappointment. I wish I had a dollar for every time I suggested Herplex to someone.

My doctor recommended Lantus. It is more expensive and less effective than the NPH I was taking. I was on 2 injections per day before Lanus. Now I have to take short acting insulin before each mean and Lantus before bed. I feel like a pin cushion and my blood sugars are no better. Taking the extra insulin has caused weight gain. I was prescribed tussinex for my cough when I got bronchitis, it works great! It stopped my cough immediately and lasts about 4-5 hours. It does make me very sleepy though, but I still recommend it.
