I took this a few years ago and had HORRIBLE side effects and stopped it within one month. I developed horrible cramping, diarhea, blood in my stools. I also had severe abdominal pain that turned out to be kidney infarctions (like a heart attack in my kidneys) that was due to blood clots. The doctors could find nothing else wrong with me that would cause these symptoms. I stopped using NuvaRing and these symptoms immediately disappeared.

My son was diagnosed as Bipolar but was mostly manic and rarely depressed. The doctors started him on Effexor which put him in such a high state of mania that he had to be hospitalized. Yet the doctors kept prescribing this poison. They counteracted it with Seroquel which made him sleep, and Lithium which made him shake so badly he could barely hold onto anything. Been suffering from major depression, ptsd, dissociation and anxiety for many years.
