It helped relieve my acne. The only reason for my liver damage and fever is because I got Mono. Dry lips and hands while on Accutane were uncomfortable, but worth getting rid of my acne.

I started Piracetam on a Friday. I felt like I slept better and during waking hours, I didn't stress as much about things. I was very "mellow". I started getting a sore throat like a cold on Saturday. Then on Sunday afternoon, I felt a little feverish. By Sunday night, I had moderate fever and vomiting. I was in bed with fever for 24 hours. the odor is terrible. it smells like a cheap musky cologne. it stays in my clothes and can still be smelled on my skin after i shower. i also feel paranoid about coming in contact with my wife (who is breast feeding) and my 2 small daughters.

I was pissed when my insurance company pretty much forced me to buy the generic (a 3 month supply of ortho lo is $115 vs.$10 for the generic). Being a student, I can no longer afford the name brand BC I trust! HOWEVER, since being on tri-sprintec lo, I have not had ANY side effects. It's just like being on Ortho tri cyclen lo - minus the cool click pack. It's only been one month so far, but, so far, so good. My advice: try it, it just may not be the end of the world!
