Allegra made my heart race, so I asked my doctor to be switched to something with fewer side effects. I then I took Xyzal for about 7 months, while it did reduce my allergies the side effects were devastating. I gained weight. I was tired all the time. My heart rate went up. My joint's ached. My doctor started checking me for thyroid conditions, I had an EKG that showed nothing. I now suspect it was the Xyzal. Very effective when taken as recommended, gets rid of nauseous feeling and stops the vomitting i about half an hour at the most. But is needed to be repeated if it does not work in cases of extreme food poisoning or vomitting.
