This drug also works as an 'antispasmodic' (slows digestion) making it a godsend for those of us who have had Ulcerative Colitis, Chrones Disease, IBS, Colon Cancer, etc. -related surgeries. After having my large intestine/colon removed, this drug has given me the opportunity to enjoy life and not always be looking for the restroom...let alone go camping, etc. Also 'quiets' the gurgling noises. I had a cold and I head that zicam shortens the length of colds, so I took it and it did help some, but the nasal swaps are really awkward to use.

Honestly, this medication did not really work for me. I had to switch to a more effective one, and I just don't remember the name of that one. But chloramphenicol was just useless, and with so many side effects, I used to wonder whether or not it was not worsening the symptoms of my typhoid fever.

I have been taking carbimazole for one week now and Iam on 40mgs one day. my T4 level is 36. My shakes and fast heart beat is now ok but my eyes are still swollen. I have Graves disease and I will be happy to try other treatement such as the naturopath.....can you tell us how did you go about getting your naturopath treatment? I m really tired of getting this swollen and eye lids..
