Nothing in the whole legal world worked for me until my doctor reluctantly prescribed Tussionex for my constant and uncontrollable coughing- due to smog and vog (volcanic stuff in Hawaii combined with pollution), sleepless nights, weight loss, mental and emotional anguish, and mild bronchitis, asthma, and panic attacks due to severe coughing and choking. It sucks! This drug did a great job helping my depression, but at a huge cost to my health. I've been suffering severe nausea, vomiting, super-sensitivity to smells and dizziness. I take gravol to stave off the nausea - but gravol makes me so tired! At the end of the day I was a prisoner in my own home because I refuse to drive if I'm dizzy & on gravol. Advil is a great OTC medicine for minor pains like headaches, toothaches, and even menstrual cramps. It has been effective for me while not producing any negative side effects. However, it may not work as well on more stronger and long-term pains.

I had taken Marax in the mid 70s and as a 16 year old "in charge" of her medication, I probably took more than prescribed and suffered severe anxiety attacks. Sometimes so debilitating, I wanted to jump out of my skin. Then I would crash and thought I was going to die.
