This drug also works as an 'antispasmodic' (slows digestion) making it a godsend for those of us who have had Ulcerative Colitis, Chrones Disease, IBS, Colon Cancer, etc. -related surgeries. After having my large intestine/colon removed, this drug has given me the opportunity to enjoy life and not always be looking for the restroom...let alone go camping, etc. Also 'quiets' the gurgling noises. Since having the Mirena IUD inserted approx. 10 months ago I had developed anxiety, panic attacks, heart palpitations, chest pain, difficulty breathing, night sweats, hot flashes, memory lapses and a generally foggy and unwell feeling. I have no prior history of any of these conditions. I had the Mirena IUD removed yesterday and hope that these symptoms improve.
