I've used Metformin for about two years now. I have PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), and was prescribed Metformin in order to help me keep my weight down and decrease my apatite; I am also on birth control. Both pills are keeping my menstrual cycle regular. The only thing that is bothersome about Metformin is that, for the first few days when starting up the pills, I get nauseous and have an upset stomach/diarrhea, but it's nothing that Pepto-Bismol can't handle.

FYI Ladies - I have been treated for massive blood clots throughout my body because of Seasonique. The doc told me after 3 months I could go back to the gym - well went twice and developed lesions. I go to my son's FB game and within 30 min have 2nd degree burns. I am now on 2 inhalers because my pulmonary embolisms in the heat and humidity of summer make it virtually impossible to catch my breath. Seasonique isn't worth the risk. Norethindrone has regulated my menstral cycles to normal lengths of time. However I have added 15lbs of weight since I began taking. (about 40-45 days ago) Extreme bloating has occured since using Norethindrone. Is there an altenative to this drug that will not cause the above side effects
