I was on the study that had Enbrel approved by the FDA. I received great care at Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, MA. I was willing to try anything to improve my desperate health situation. When I joined the study I was basically bedridden. The risk of side effects is well worth the relief from pain and the regained mobility. Well, my mood is better. I can get to sleep without every bad thing that has happened in the past 20 years going through my head. Have energy to get up and do things. Overall this stuff is great, except my sex life has gone to hell. I can get an erection, but it does n't progress any farther along, doesn't feel any better than peeing and no climax. But hell, at least I'm not depressed about it. really.

It got me out of a severe depressive episode, for which I am grateful. However, I still experience bouts of depression, often in the afternoon. So it is likely not a long term solution for me. Changing to this synthetic analogue, described to me as "the greatest thing for Type 1 diabetics" by my diabetic team was a decision I now deeply regret. I have unexplained muscle/joint pain. The pain starts late in the day and becomes debilitating. High doses of motrin helps. Sometimes I have residual pain in the joint the next day. The pain has affected areas from my jaw to my feet. Any suggestions?
