This drug also works as an 'antispasmodic' (slows digestion) making it a godsend for those of us who have had Ulcerative Colitis, Chrones Disease, IBS, Colon Cancer, etc. -related surgeries. After having my large intestine/colon removed, this drug has given me the opportunity to enjoy life and not always be looking for the restroom...let alone go camping, etc. Also 'quiets' the gurgling noises. Completely loved the convienience of the NuvaRing, seemed that every month the side effects got progressively worse, started out with a headache that lasted a week, then each month I would get a headache the day I would put a new ring in, eventually I ended up with severe diarrhea that I couldnt even eat and left me with horrible abdominal cramping. I got this as a teenager with very bad acne, it did not work extraordinary well. It dried out my skin and made it flaky, I think I would have been better off with something different.

I have fibromyalgia and was very hopeful while taking this medicaiton but to tell you the truth my life was a living hell. I found myself in a deep dark place I had never been before, I think if it wasn't for my faith I don't know what this medication would have caused me to do.
