Since starting Trivora I've become extremely depressed and moody. I've always been a little insecure, but the medicine seems to magnify it exponentially. My mood jumps from one extreme to the next. I sometimes feel like I'm on the verge of total insanity and even have suicidal thoughts at times.

This medication was prescribed to help with my fibromyalgia. Taking this medication has slowly deteriorated my quality of life. It no longer helped with the pain so I discussed it with my physician and it was decided that I could come off this meedication. The "withdrawal" is the most difficult thing I have ever been through. Three separate times, I have overdosed on fluoxetine because I was feeling depressed or anxious. The first time I took a 150% dose, and it just made me feel extremely anxious and weird; I cried a lot. A year later, I took 200% dose, and I barely noticed a difference. The next day I took 300% dose, and I was afraid of what it would do to me, so I threw it up. Don't overdose on this stuff.

This drug was a last ditch effort for me. It was trying this or having ECT which I am strongly against. I am happy that pristiq has given me much needed relief not only from depression but from anxiety as well. The only really awful side effect I had at first was nausea. It was very strong for about 3 weeks and then faded as time has gone on. I would recommend anyone whose tried other medications that haven't worked well for them to try this one.
