Turmeric is a common South Asian spice found in the kitchen of many Indian homes (making it very accessible). Known as an Ayurvedic (traditional & natural Indian medicine) medicine, turmeric is actually a plant that carries many alleviating properties--one of which is an antibacterial agent thus making it ideal as an antiseptic. It also clots blood, so when there is a significant cut or wound, quickly applying turmeric will inhibit blood loss.

I was prescribed dexamethasone for severe inflammation in my tonsils when I had mononucleosis. I was unable to swallow and had difficulty breathing due to my enlarged tonsils, but the dexamethosone improved the swelling significantly very quickly. It made me very hungry, but I had also lost a lot of weight from my illness, so this side effect was not bad for me. I had dark circles under my eyes and difficulty concentrating while I was on the drug. I was on a low dose dexamethosone for abo... View full comment

Tylenol is not the best for quick enough to relieve pain. it is however good in slowing down the pain. for example, it works well on relieving y headache, menstrual pain, and occasionally the cold. the cold doesn't stop but its not as severe. i don't necessarily depend on it, but once in a while it helps me get a little bit better than i was.

Update: the Zyflamend is not effective enough for my rosacea which has returned somewhat despite my usage of the maximum dosage. I did get a five month break from taking the oral antibiotics which I think is a good thing and I plan to substitute Zyflamend, full dosage again in the future. In the meantime, I am continuing to take the lowest possible dosage to keep my arthritic toe and finger joints happy. All in all, it's a very useful product, but just not a permanent solution to my rosac... View full comment

Worked great as an addition to another SSRI when I was having trouble with early morning wakefulness. Actually took care of that problem very quickly and I was very pleased with the outcome. This remained in a steady-state for about 6 months and then I noticed that I was feeling excessively tired during the day and had severe trouble focusing and concentrating. I couldn't remember things that people said to me just seconds prior. After discussing this with my pdoc he decided to remove the... View full comment
