I too am hyperthyroid. I was prescribed carbimazole and had an allergic reaction with a skin rash which erupted within days. I then was prescribed PTU, propylithouacil which I initially took at a very high dosage, namely 12 tablets/day and after several weeks lost my taste completely and had bad headaches. My consultant reduced the dosage to two/day after 2 months as I had gone underactive. I gradually regained my taste but then developed pains in my arms so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides... I have osteo arthritis and bone on bone in my knees. Previously, I took Glucosamine-Chondritin/MSM or Alleve and didn't get anywhere near the good results and had to be concerned about liver damage. I would advise some users to cut back their dosage if they are getting heart palpitations. Four per day sounds waaay to high.

Yasmin does it's job, as in I haven't gotten pregnant while on this birth control. And every form of HBC is different for every person, and every pill has some sort of side effect. I just know that ever since starting this pill, I'm anxious, stressed, and fatigued much more than I used to be. But since I had even worse side effects with other brands in the past, I'm too nervous to try anything else.
