I have taken lithium Carbonate in different variations since 1979 for the treatment of bipolar. Each time I chose to go off it for any reason I had problems and resumed. This has by far been my saving grace to allow me to live a normal life. Any benefits far outweigh the side effects.

It is common to experience some stinging or burning when you place the drops in the eyes. However, I hope the burning didn't continue afterward. If the burning doesn't subside after a short period of time, you should seek medical attention to ensure you aren't allergic to any of the ingredients or experiencing some adverse effect. After being made hypothyroid due to RAI treatment, I still feel that levothyroxine can do a better job of affecting the emotional and psychological side of treatment, too. At this time I feel that it doesn't work well with all areas of hypothyroidism's effects.

woke up with severe pain in left eye; subsided, and then headache (in first month) rash & itching; used 2.5%cortizone;itching left & has now returned, on faced & eyes last time, now all over. Unbalanced when getting out of bed at night & morning.
