I've taken only immediate release niacin. With twice a day dosing, I've never had any liver issues. Every time I try three times a day dosing, I eventually get elevated liver enzymes.

The first few days I took Trileptal I felt "drunk" but that vanished within the first week. Cognitive side effects such as severely not being able to remember words and short term memory loss were severe the first few months, but tapered off so that after the first 6 months I wasn't and am still not sure if it's the Trileptal or getting older (45) that's causing the now mild effects.

Terrible! Try getting off this medication! It messes up your brain chemistry. I ended up in the psych ward after the terrible anxiety after trying to taper off. I did not alleviate any nerve pain that I had or still have. It's cousin Lyrica is just as dangerous! I would not suggest either of these meds. Antisiezure meds should be used for that purpose only. I am a 30 yrold woman with RSD I have a brain injury and have been taking narcotics for the last 3 years. I recently 10 days ago switchd o suboxone for painrelief and to ease wthdrawl. Well I am experoenceing headaches, major anxiey, my feet and hands are very swollen in the mornings and very aslleep I developed a bladder/kidney infection as well I am ready to go back to opioates fo pain relief this is hard.
