the pil has been affective. I took it for about 8 or 9 years. I am no longer on it and have had my colesterol checked and my HDL was low and I have read articles that says that may be due to the birth control pill.

Very effective at first. It gave me very vivid dreams, and sometimes it seemed like I was dreaming before I was actually asleep. One night, once I started feeling relaxed, I thought I was in a hallway filled with macaroni and cheese. There were times when, as I was falling asleep/just waking up, I couldn't tell if I was asleep or awake--sometimes I thought I was awake, and it turned out I was dreaming and vice versa.

If there was an alternative non drug, then I would not take it. I have chroic urticaria since I was 17 and have never taken a medical drug since because of this. This has not been taken into account by my doctors at all.

NEVER AGAIN will I take this crap. I can't believe it made it on the market. I remember my first few doses where I was lying in bed frozen since the slightest movement made the whole room spin. My eyes felt like they were being spun out of my head and my body trembled from the inside. The side effects were really bad for 3 hours after taking my dose. I am breastfeeding my son, so these pills were a good option for birth control. When I was on estrogen containing pills, I developed painful cystic acne which left scars, and since Jolivette, I haven't had one pimple. The only things I do not like about Jolivette are a decrease in my breast milk supply, a constant absence of periods, oily hair, and horrible migraines that cannot be helped by otc pain relievers that can last for hours.

I told my daughter not to take the shots, it was too new and was unfortable with it and recommended she not have it. When she went for physical the doctor recommened she have it. She said she didn't want it, but it felt like it was being forced a bit, so she took it. She didn't feel well for a couple of weeks afterwards. At first, the medication caused nausea, so the doctors reduced the prescribed dosage for me and since the dosage was decreased, nausea also decreased and went away. Prominent side effects included constipation and weakness and there were multiple other mild side effects that went away as the dosage was decreased more.
