I was on Junel for a 2 or 3 years. I absolutely loved it. I went through a year and a half of hit and misses with many different types of birth controls. I did not gain weight, I actually lost a lot of weight and maintained a great weight or have depression. This drug was efficient on my high blood pressure, despite of side effects at the begining of the treatment, but after 3 years, it became non efficient and the doctor had to change the perscription.

I'm not good at taking daily tablets--usually every other day, but still my cholesterol dropped 100 points. When I do take, my feet hurt when I get up in the morning. On days I don't take the medication, they feel better.

My depression has lifted significantly, but not enough to say I think this is a great med for me. I've gained 10 pounds, have frequent bad headaches and believe that my vision has deteriorated. I am much more irritable and intense. I had great success with Prozac for many years and then it just pooped out. Since then I have been on just about every depression med. This was a very expensive drug that my doctor prescribed, and probably the only one that had absolutely NO effects on me. It neither stopped my migraines, nor helped the ones I already had. I didn't experience any side effects, which is a plus, but it did nothing for the pain.
