I have recently begun to implement bran into my diet. I haven't seen results but I certainly feel healthier.

Have been taking Topamax for about 5 years for migraines. At one point I was up to 300 mg/day but am now down to 200 mg/day. This medication has been challenging at times. I have experienced all the typical side effects to varying degrees. The most challenging side effect for me is the speech aphasia that I experience. It can be extremely embarrassing in a business setting (or even among friends for that matter) to have words just not "come out". You know the words are there,... View full comment

This is a horrible drug that caused all kinds of side effects and made me miserable for the last 2 years. Started taking it due to gastritis from NSAIDS. Tried Pepcid first but got acid breakthrough after 1 month. Tried 10 mg capsules of Omeprazole, but they had a nasty aftertaste. Bumped up to 20 mg, then 40 mg. Constant bloating and abdominal pains. Started to get acid reflux a month later. Tried several times to taper off Omeprazole, but the acid rebound was incredible. Tried Nexiu... View full comment

I too am hyperthyroid. I was prescribed carbimazole and had an allergic reaction with a skin rash which erupted within days. I then was prescribed PTU, propylithouacil which I initially took at a very high dosage, namely 12 tablets/day and after several weeks lost my taste completely and had bad headaches. My consultant reduced the dosage to two/day after 2 months as I had gone underactive. I gradually regained my taste but then developed pains in my arms so bad I couldn't sleep on my sides... I am taking Moringa to help with calcium uptake as I cannot take dairy products (lactose intolerance) or elemental calcium due to family history of cardiac disease and arterial sclerosis. I have found that even taking one pill per day has increased my alertness, decreased joint pain and decreased stress. What I do not like is the nausea I experience. I am not sure if it is because I am taking it with other vitamins but plan to see if this still occurs when I take it at lunch well after my mo... View full comment

For a drug that can be easily bought in stores, Advil is definitely the best. It has never given me any negative side effects (nothing like nausea, headaches, drowsiness, etc.). It has helped provide relief from pain, stomach cramps, headaches, and sports-related injuries.
