I was very depressed and had thoughts of suicide due to debilitating pain and loss of mobility, and was walking the floor at night, unable to sleep, crying, wishing I could die just to be free of the pain. Started takin Aleve for knee pain. Developed abdominal pain and couldn't tell if it was bladder or gas. Did not put 2+2 together that it may have been a side effect from the aleve at first. That's how I wound up on this site. Stopped taking it and the abdominal pain went away.

To everyone on NSAIDs...please be careful! My brother was prescribed naproxin (which is just prescription strength Aleve) for shoulder pain. The Dr kept refilling the prescription for 9 months which resulted in kidney damage. Over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs like Advil, Motrin, Aleve can be dangerous if taken improperly or long term. They aren't "safe" just because you can buy them without a prescription. I take ibuprofen quite frequently. It is really effective on my daily aches and headaches from my job. A couple of pills work quickly but I have to take them often. They seem to wear off quickly, so it's usually ever 4 hours that I need to take more to completely get rid of my aches.

i dont like taking pills. what bothers me about this pill is that it is very very very small. i only take it because it works for me and because my doctor tells me i have to. i feel like if i dont take it i will increase my risk of having a heart attack
