My thyroid lvls were low so doctor prescribed this to me 25 mg. once a day. I noticed a weight gain immediately, headaches, severe joint pain, my throat felt swollen or like a lump was in it and overall negative effects. I had 2 shots of depo to help with my severe PMS. Whilst I was on it, I didn't notice a huge difference but when I decided to stop taking it, I never had a period for 11 months. I put some weight on whilst having the shots but put on even more weight after coming off it, gaining 2 stone in total. FYI Ladies - I have been treated for massive blood clots throughout my body because of Seasonique. The doc told me after 3 months I could go back to the gym - well went twice and developed lesions. I go to my son's FB game and within 30 min have 2nd degree burns. I am now on 2 inhalers because my pulmonary embolisms in the heat and humidity of summer make it virtually impossible to catch my breath. Seasonique isn't worth the risk. What was interesting about the drug was how dry it made my skin. My lips were so dry, chapped and red. They always peeled, and my skin seemed so much more dry. Accutane has cured any previous acne I had on my chest and back. From time to time I get a pimple or two, but this is recent. A year after accutane, I was still getting nasty breakouts.
