I was prescribed this drug when I had a severe sinus infection and kept vomiting. The drowsiness associated with this medicine was more debilitating to me than the vomiting, so I stopped taking the medicine. I think that they did not need to prescribe me something so strong, and the doctor did not warn me of the side effects I would likely experience.

I began with Effexor a few years ago. It worked wonderfully at first, and then I experienced severe side effects. I switched to Cymbalta with great success without the side effects. I sleep well and feel "connected" and balanced. I went off Cymbalta for a few months, without problem. I've recently gone back on, due to some rough life changes. This was a very expensive drug that did absolutely nothing for me. It didn't prevent an oncoming migraine when taken at onset, nor did it dull the pain once the migraine was full blown. I didn't experience any side effects, but it did nothing for the pain.

I was given Ceftin to treat a possible sinus/ear infection. I developed antibiotic-associated colitis after taking it. While I took the Ceftin, however, there were no side effects to speak of.

Please don't start Agomelatine with these side-effects in your mind. Wait and see what it does for you. everybody reacts different and it could be the right one for you! I think, if you you have psychosomatic problems that you can definetely "talk" yourself also into not having a benefit from A., because you read a lot of stuff you didn't like to hear and now you fear you might react the same.
