Your situation appears similar to mine. I had been taking Avapro (AKA Irbesartan) 150mg 2x daily which was doing the job. Then my drug insurer refused to cover it. Losartan was suggested as an alternative so I began that. I was on 50mg 2x daily which seemed to work; that was in 2012. I moved to a new state in 2012 and changed doctors. This seems to be the most effective drug for depression/anxiety that I have been given. I have been on quite a few. It doesnt seem to have any side effects, which was great. The only problem I have is when I dont take it. There have been times when I was due for a refill and had to wait until payday or for the pharmacy to open on Monday.
