It's true that the taste is awful, and the bit of numbing is weird! But I have never slept better, and I wake up without any drug effects. I fall asleep about 20 minutes after I take it, so I plan accordingly. I find that it's less "yucky" if I place it under my tongue in such a way that I can make a tight "seal" over it with the rest of my tongue. After trying several other medications, Amrix was the first to relieve the intense constant pain in my head. I was extremely tired the first couple of weeks after I started taking it. Especially in the first week, I couldn't even trust myself to take care of my children because I couldn't keep my eyes open. I also had problems with my face breaking out and extreme dry mouth. I have never had hallucinations in my life. I'm a 39 yr old female and was taking it for severe sinusitus and ear infections which I have been battling since this spring due to allergies. My Dr. gave me xyzal. I am an extremely calm, rational person. I have been perscribed Vicodin many times in the past, but this most recent time was very odd. I have experienced many side effects such as insomnia, when I am sleeping strange dreams, and an all over itch for the first day or two that eventually subsided. Overall, this is an ok painkiller, but I find it is really only effective at the start, over the days it seems that it doesn't work as well.
