It got me out of a severe depressive episode, for which I am grateful. However, I still experience bouts of depression, often in the afternoon. So it is likely not a long term solution for me. I take Tums for extra calcium, but I recommend not taking them on an empty stomache; typically, if I do, I experience (very minor) stomache pains.

Glad I read your comment. I go for my first (3 month) cholesterol blood test to see if the Lipitor is working. I think I'll ask my Dr. to ask for a glucose test also, just to be on the safe side. Thanks!

I quit Lipitor almost 3 years ago. I was very close to not being able to work and had already had to give up all social contacts, was afraid to drive anymore and less than a year away from being on disability and not know WHY! Within the first 2 weeks of being on this drug, I sat down to eat lunch one day and when I went to get up, it felt like someone had hit me in both knees at the same time with a sledge hammer. I use metofrmin in combination with glyburide, otherwise it won't work. Metformin for me cannot work alone. Right now, I can't take it because I don't have glyburide, so i use Diabenese instead.

I had a stomach virus and kept vomiting and once I got on this medication it helped relieve my nausea and vomiting, no side effects or anything bad from this medication.
