I switched from Diovan to Micardis five years ago and started having "eye disturbances" (I know now they are optical migraines) so my doctor changed my dosage to 40mg in the morning and 40 mg in the evening and this worked great for several years but in the past year I have had more of the disturbances usually when I break the pill and it's not equal but I have also noticed my vision (previously 20/20) getting worse and worse. I seemed to be shaky after taking it but if I get busy (do housework, go for a walk etc.) it gets better. If I lay around I become annoyed and tired and need a nap. Its almost like if I work with the medicine I can do my regular routine but if I dont and give into the pain while Im waiting for it to kick in then it doesnt help.

My blood pressure is back to normal. So that is great. But I'm experiencing many side effects I don't like and I may not be able to continue to tolerate - like really bad heartburn, loss of appetite, insomnia, swelling in extremities, painful joints, and others. I don't wanna die from high blood pressure.... but i feel lousy in a way I never felt before. So, I may need to try to a different med.
