Carbimazole is a new drug for me. I am diabetic and it has dropped my iinsulin level slightly. I feel emotionally low. No positive effects yet.

Helped with swelling around my joints, however caused severe stomach pain after I had been taking it for a few months. I had to quit taking the medication and take another to repair my stomach lining.

I am only taking Adalat because I am still nursing my daughter - as soon as she is weaned, I am going back to Micardis. Adalat is awful for me. My legs and feet turn bright red and feel really warm, plus I have a sense of dizziness, and it is hard for me to function normally. I would not recommend this drug, unless you have no other choice.

After finding out I had Graves Disease and thyrotoxicosis in January 2010 I was put on carbimazole (think I had symptoms for nearly a year but always put them down to something else, maybe "change of life" etc) After only 6 days I had a severe allergic reaction to the carbimazole that nearly lost me my life! i went to the doctor's with a tension headache - was prescribed fiorcet - however, the headache is still there - it dulls the headache. I think the only reason it feels any better is because it makes me extremely sleepy
