Far superior to standard Metformin. Some generics cause horrible GI side effects which others such as Sun? do not. Glumetza's only side effects are mild, including mild stomach upset, some bloating, skin texture change, and hair thinning/hair loss.

For blood pressure-hared to urinate bladder pressure needed catheter to urinate. VERY BAD memory loss, could not think clear of find words to remember places and putting thoughts into words,sweating& hot flashes swollen feet,legs and ankles,blurred vision...may lower BP but not worth the side effects for me I stopped this medication and after 6 weeks effects are less but some still there,still very blurred vision,memory is better, urine has cleared,able to urinate regualr now.

This is the first drug I have taken that has made me feel better in YEARS. I have had depression/anxiety issues and Anorexia Nervosa for far too many years and this is the first time a drug has lifted my depression, lessened my anxiety and did not effect my weight all at once. Completely loved the convienience of the NuvaRing, seemed that every month the side effects got progressively worse, started out with a headache that lasted a week, then each month I would get a headache the day I would put a new ring in, eventually I ended up with severe diarrhea that I couldnt even eat and left me with horrible abdominal cramping. These pills made me feel like I was crazy. I was moody and depressed and impatient. My mood could change from being happy to being sad or angry in an instant. My boyfriend broke up with me because I treated him so badly. After I changed pills we got back together and things are fine. I also got migraines right before I started my period and those stopped after I changed pills.

Beofre starting on qualaquin, I used to use Nivaquin which was very effective, but I think that at a certain point my body started eveloping resistance to the drug. So this is why I started with qualaquin, whose effects are noticeable from day 5 of the treatment. But it gives me this unecessary bitter taste in the mouth, so I have to take a tablespoon of honey after.It also has so many other side effects like generalized lethargy, appetite loss, etc. But I learned to deal with that.
