Darvocet N 100 was prescribed to me when I broke my foot this summer. I took it as directed but it is a controlled medication and made me very sleepy and I would just fall asleep whenever I took it (so it was good to take at night) But honestly what helped the most with my pain was the Ibuprofen 800 which is an antiinflammatory. Over a year ago (9/2008) I fell very badly on concrete, with my left leg bent underneath me. During the first week I took half a dose and experienced a pretty strong distaste to all foods. Even when I was hungry, the sight and smell of food made me feel sick. This went away during the second week. My only other side effect is that I don't sleep as much as I used to. Also, it tends to wear off suddenly between doses. Even at the highest recommended dose, it doesn't work a full 24 hours. It does cause extreme drowsiness about 30 minutes to an hour after taking, so I take mine at bedtime. It is also quite expensive if you don't have insurance.
