I take 2g per day for pseudotumor cerebri, so I know that is a lot. Diamox has helped my high pressure headaches and helped keep most of the PTC symptoms at bay, however, it does have some issues of its own. Before I began taking a potassium supplement, my energy level was greatly decreased, my blood pressure was EXTREMELY low (about 86/50) on a regular basis and I would experience leg cramps as well as stabbing pains in both my feet and my hands. As I noted, with potassium, most of these sid... View full comment

I have had simular issues. I first started taking chantix Oct 29, 2008. I had terrible abdominal pain and severe nausea. So, I convinced myself to continue taking the drug because I thought nausea and abdominal pain was better than continuing to smoke. Boy was I wrong. I quit smoking on Nov 15, 2008 AND quit taking chantix 3 days later. I knew I had to because chantix was making me very ill. Shortly after stopping, I had terrible gas, a very sensitive and nausea stomach 24/7. Unusual weight l... View full comment

It got me out of a severe depressive episode, for which I am grateful. However, I still experience bouts of depression, often in the afternoon. So it is likely not a long term solution for me. Also, I don't like the following side effects: Feeling cold all the time, especially in hands Stronger OCD tendencies than normal Moderate paranoia and heightened OCD 2 hours before time for daily dosage Extreme drowsiness if taken in the morning instead of at night (have now been instructed to take... I've been using the generics for Loestrin, one called Microgestin and another called Junel and the side effects are more noticeable with Microgestin than Junel.

My migraines used to be debilitating. Now that I take this drug, I can function again after I take a pill. I do get a little nausea and cold sweats sometimes after I take a pill, but I would take those side effects anyday over a brutal migraine.
