My mother was prescribed Actonel by a visiting locum within 48 hours she experienced a tingling sensation all over her body, followed by horrific pain in all her joints which has continued for another 3 weeks and is ongoing. She is also experiencing night sweats, often having to change her pyjamas twice during the night. She is 72, has diabetes and hypertension. Started out with 50mg 2x daily for a week, with no improvement. 2nd week took 75mg 2x daily with some good improvement in numbness/tingling. Third wee took 100mg 2xdaily and was so dizzy, could not walk in straight line. Had to hold on to the wall to walk. Only took 3 doses and had to stop. Went back to 50mg till I can get off it. Ataivan works better but does cause some drowziness.

Doctor perscribed it for Strep. Literally almost had to crawl to the doctors office because I had gotten so sick and run down. He gave me Levaquin and by the second day of taking it I felt 100% better and was almost back to normal! Just a little residual coucghing the next few days- but definitely it knocked it out and FAST!

Plan B is not 100% effective but if taken withing 24hrs can really make a difference. It gave me a peace of mind and helped prevent an unwanted pregnancy. However, I did get some menstrual changes and headaches as a results. My stress level was lowered.
