About 2 hours after taking the pill every morning I'm in a bad mood and it stays that way for most of the day. I have noticed that I am feeling more depressed and irritable... totally not me. I tore the ligaments in my ankle (very painful) and was prescribed Vicodin. I only take one pill and am fine with it. Lessens the pain with no noticeable side-effects while awake. I have noticed that if I take one right before bed, I will wake up with both my arms entirely numb, feeling like they are "asleep". So I just don't take it before bed any more.

I was on 125 mg and reduced down to 100 mg over about 4 weeks (yes very slowly) and my jerky limbs side effects have gotten worse. I also find my sleeping patterns are all over the place. But I feel so much better than before that I don't want to stop taking them.

After 2 years it seemed like the Plaquenil was no longer working. My Rheumatologist switched me to Azathioprine but I had an allergic reaction to it. I am now back on Plaquenil and it seems to be working again along with Prednisone.
