Indocin has been a miracle drug for me. It was first prescribed during a severe episode of bursitis over 20 years ago after numerous other prescriptions had failed. For years I took it on an "as needed" basis. I take this drug because I had a total thyroidectemy...it now replaces what the horomones that the thyroid creates. I have always had an easy time taking it, no serious side effects. The real key is remembering to take it every day!

During the first week I took half a dose and experienced a pretty strong distaste to all foods. Even when I was hungry, the sight and smell of food made me feel sick. This went away during the second week. My only other side effect is that I don't sleep as much as I used to. Also, it tends to wear off suddenly between doses. I'm sure that has to do with my not finding the proper dosage for me (I've only been on it for about 4 weeks), but that is something to keep in mind when considering... View full comment

It's interesting...It definitely makes me feel MUCH better. I initially caved into "drugs" after dealing with horrible panic attacks for two years. I tried to stay away from reading reviews because I knew I wouldn't take it then. I have to tell you, I have definitely gained weight, and whether it's from this drug or personal eating habits, I don't know. prescribed it at the ER due to pain in the gall bladder. Within 30 minutes, I had severe stomach cramps and pain in my stomach. After getting sick, the stomach pain went away. But the pain in my gall bladder was still there.
