My doctor has had me try several different medicines for Bi-Polar disorder. We settled on Depakote because it seemed to do an adequate job with fewer side effects than the other medicines. It seems that since I have been taking it, I have started having more side effects. I have extreme hair loss (although it does grow back) and kidney pain. I have a constant fatigue. It has not made me feel better or "normal".

Pomegranates definitely have a lot of health benefits. I have not yet seen any results, but I do not take pomegranates on a prescribed dosage.

I believe I suffered from depression and anxiety for many years before being officaly diagnosed. I finally seeked help when it was affecting my ability to be a good wife and mother. I hoped it would help with my decreased libido but while it did not get worse there was not much of a change. The beginning side effects where a little discouraging but lasted maybe two weeks. I finally found a Dr would would switch me to Armour, after being on Synthroid for 13 yrs. My hair and skin are healthy, I sleep better, feel more normal then I have in years. Best part, I have my mind back! Yes, I can actually think and remember things.
