My 4 month old son has been diagnosed with IS. We have opted to put him on Sabril but would like to hear some testimonials, good or bad, about this treatment. We are going to try it regardless but would like to know what people have experienced so we can prepare for any possible outcome or side effect. Any information we can gain from those who have experienced this treatment is greatly appreciated.

My 15 year old son has ADHD. He has been on numerous stimulants over the years as well as Strattera. The stimulants caused decreased weight and appetitie and increased frustration. While they helped with focus, the tradeoffs were difficult. He currently is on Vyvanse 50 mg daily and began Intuniv 1mg three weeks ago and has titrated up to 3 mg. I love the pill, but it does make me feel a little crazy. It has a weird effect on my emotional stability and it sometimes causes me to get angry or upset for no reason.

All my life people described me as being laid-back and happy. But my first year of college I became sad and impatient and moody. Everyone thought I was homesick or having a hard time adjusting to school. When I went to the university clinic to get a new prescription for birth control they gave me a free generic. My original dosing was only once a day, but around mid-afternoon I felt horrible and my symptoms were worse than ever. My psychiatrist switched me to one in the early morning and one in afternoon and, ever since, the change has been ridiculous. My finances are under control (because I can focus on taking care of bills as opposed to forgetting about them and then getting anxious), my work is a thousand times better and I am a lot more confident because my ADHD is being managed.
