My son was diagnosed as Bipolar but was mostly manic and rarely depressed. The doctors started him on Effexor which put him in such a high state of mania that he had to be hospitalized. Yet the doctors kept prescribing this poison. They counteracted it with Seroquel which made him sleep, and Lithium which made him shake so badly he could barely hold onto anything. I was hospitalized for a week in February with suicidal depression. I started taking Sertraline Hydrochloride on April 10th and I am a new woman. My depression is non-existent and I am the happiest I have ever been. This medication worked for me. I have had nothing great things to say about it. I took Paxil in the past and the side effects I had were weight gain and bad withdrawals when I missed a dose. I've not experienced that with Sertraline Hydrochloride.
