Unfortunately, I have had a real problem with hormonal birth control. I'm currently taking Microgestin, and while I'm kind of miserable on it, it's not as bad as what I experienced with Ortho. My only real complaint is that I have developed contact lens intolerance, and get red, gritty, painful eyes every time I wear my lenses for more than one day at a time. My Dr., of course, doesn't think it's from the pill, but would rather send me to a series of unnecessary (and expensive) tests. G... View full comment

Zyrtec works best for me out of all of the allergy drugs on the market. The only problem I have is that you need to start taking it weeks before allergy season in order for it to be effective.

I should have read up on all the potential side effects but I was unsure which medicine I would get due to my insurance. I can't wait for the European I.V. presentation of Tylenol to become available in the United States... It will offer another option for fever control.

When I get the flu, I usually try a few over the counter medicines before going to see the doctor. I've tried sudafed in the past and it works ok, but it usually makes me really drowsy. If it makes me too drowsy, I will usually switch to another cold/flu medication.
