the pil has been affective. I took it for about 8 or 9 years. I am no longer on it and have had my colesterol checked and my HDL was low and I have read articles that says that may be due to the birth control pill.

My doctor recently switched me from pravastatin to simvastatin, since - despite weight loss and adding regular exercise and fish oil - my total cholesterol levels began to rise again. One supplement you should always take if you are on any of the statin drugs is Coenzyme Q10, as statins can deplete this nutrient from your body and cause muscle damage and worse. I'm not sure if Benicar is causing the problem, but not long after upping my dosage to 40.25, I started having pain in my right hip, now limping and can't walk far. If Benicar is cause, can't get off of it quick enough.
