I took this as prescibed for what i know now know to have been pneumonia. the discouraging part of this medication is that it is known to only work if taken within 2 days of a VIRAL infection. it is virtually useless otherwise...

You need to report the muscle pain, you could get permanent muscle damage with cholesterol meds, I myself would not take it if you have muscle pain, this could indicate that it maybe is starting to damage your muscles and joints. I have tried five different statin drugs like baycol, zorcor and crestor....etc and they make me hurt all over, just got niaspan last night and didn't sleep and woke up lightheaded and had heart palpatations, probably won't take this either!!!! I use Aleve occasionally for general aches and pains. It is effective as a muscle relaxer, especially after running and excercising. I have never had a side effect from using Aleve.

Once you are on it, you can reduce the dosage. But it is difficult to come completely off it, however I was successful coming off it for a couple of years. It is hard to wean yourself off of paxil. It really helps with panic.
