I'm 33 this year and have been using Mirena for 4 years 8 months after having my 2nd child. The insertion was a bit painful and I felt cramps after that, but it didn't last long and was bearable. The first few days I took Trileptal I felt "drunk" but that vanished within the first week. Cognitive side effects such as severely not being able to remember words and short term memory loss were severe the first few months, but tapered off so that after the first 6 months I wasn't and am still not sure if it's the Trileptal or getting older (45) that's causing the now mild effects.

Overall this drug was great. Even though I gave great skin now, my skin did improve. I thought my skin was really good to begin with but this just took things up to another level. I experienced a 12 pound weight loss and I was eating more then previous. I did have an increase in appetite but it didn't bother me because I was loosing so much weight.
