I have been taking Allegra-D for quite some time. Over the past 5 years, I have had increasingly painful menstrual cramps to the point where it affects bowel movements. I recently did some research and found that Allegra-D can be a cause for menstrual cramps. I stopped taking Allegra-D and the menstrual cramping and painful bowel movements have gone back to normal. I'm usually satisfied with Microgestin, but lately it's been inconsistent with relieving my pain and heaviness of flow. I also had irregular bleeding 2 weeks before my normal period. I'm unsure if this is normal or a problem with Microgestin, but it will be discussed with my doctor.

The best form of birth control medication I have ever tried. The only thing that I don't like is having to remember to take it everyday. I tried Nuva Ring for a few months, but I had an allergic reaction. I switched back to Ortho Tri-Cyclen lo, and it has been great ever since. My cramps hardly exist, my periods are short with a very light flow, and my mood swings are under control.

I have found since I have been taking Betahistine that I have had shortness of breath on several occasions, which can be pretty scary. My mouth and throat feel quite dry a lot of the time, but that isn't such a big deal. I have noticed also that my nails have been 'peeling'. I don't know if this is related but it has never happened before I started taking Betahistine - and I have a pretty healthy and varied diet.
