I have a inherited increase in Lpa, and LDL levels that can cause stenosis. This is the only drug that effectively decreased my levels of Lpa and cholesterol. Used with a small 5 mg dose of lipitor, Cholesterol is 120, HDL is 73, LDL is 35 and Lpa is 37.

Developed Parkinson's after 4 yrs of Lipitor therapy for "primary prevention". No fly Hx of neurodegenerative ds; no fly hx of cardiovascular ds. Just mildly elevated TC. Am aware of others who feel Parkinson's due to lipitor, and 2 who feel ALS due to lipitor. Cholesterol necesary for synaptogenesis in brain; brain makes its own cholesterol via same pathway statins interrupt--thus depriving brain of the fat it needs. It's a good drug, it gives me less depression symptoms than other drugs, and since I laready suffer and get treated for depression, most birth controls make me have a few days of hell. this one is much better than the other two I have tried.

Lipitor caused muscle damage at my shoulders and back and legs (could not tide bike due to muscle cramps) and pain was very severe so my doc switched me to Lipidil
